THRIVE CEO, Sean Reddington, shortlisted for Great British Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

The THRIVE CEO has been shortlisted in the Midlands, with the regional finals taking place on 21 November 2022 before the winners go through to the national stage.

Sean Reddington

Sean Reddington, CEO at THRIVE and Owner at Nottinghamshire gastropub, The Old Vol, has been shortlisted for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards for his leadership of both businesses on their impressive growth journeys.

Described by Steven Bartlett as ‘The Grammy’s of Entrepreneurship’, the Great British Entrepreneur Awards celebrate the success stories of British businesses and the leaders at their helm.

In the last two years, learning technologies company, THRIVE, has seen ARR increase by 380% from £1M to £4.8M. Over the same period, THRIVE’s customer base is up 357% to 280+ customers worldwide, including Sky, Sysco, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Financial Times, Ted Baker and Travis Perkins, and its employee count grew by 208% to 114 employees.

In May 2022, THRIVE repositioned as the world’s first, complete Learning & Skills Platform, giving L&D teams complete transparency of the skills they have within their organisation, and the tools to build a truly organic skills strategy based on real-time learner data.

A new leaf for the Old Vol

The Old Vol, a Nottinghamshire gastropub that Sean took over and revamped in December 2021, has enjoyed similar success.

In just over 6 months, the pub has 2 AA Rosettes to its name, a spot in the Michelin Guide and a multi-award-winning team of chefs, with £1.8M turnover forecast this year.

Sean Reddington said:

“It’s a proud moment being shortlisted for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. THRIVE and The Old Vol differ drastically by sector, but behind their successes are two teams of similarly brilliant people, given the trust, autonomy and flexibility to be the best version of themselves - not just for their colleagues and customers, but for their families and friends too.

“Those principles won’t change, culture will remain a top priority, and right now, it’s hugely exciting to think about where both businesses will be in 6 months’ time - let alone 12.”

The winners of the regional finals will be announced at an awards ceremony on 21 November at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, with the victors going through to the national stage.
