Topps Tiles is the UK’s leading tile manufacturer, rooted in classic British design and heritage that has guided their approach for over 60 years. As a company that prides itself on an unrivalled product range and exceptional customer service, the Topps team needed a learning platform that was forward-thinking, agile, and embracing new tech. Their research brought them to Thrive.
Back in 2020 when their platform launched, John Shaw (Head of Learning & Development) and Chris Potter (Technical Training Manager) loved that Thrive prioritised employee development, and put people in control of their own learning.

Paving the way for on-the-job learning
5 years into their journey with Thrive, the Topps team continue to make use of Thrive Content (Thrive’s off-the-shelf learning content solution with thousands of sector-specific resources) and leverage the Retail sector suite to embed additional learning into their employees’ day-to-day training.
Following initial testing and knowing how indispensable Thrive was for their majority deskless workforce, Topps purchased Android tablets for every single retail store and warehouse location – allowing the platform to be nationwide, and accessible wherever their learners were via the Thrive Mobile App. Audiences and set permissions allow them to key in to what learning is provided to different people, and make the experience bespoke to each individual -- despite being part of a huge business.

Building business success
Thrive is fully adaptable to Topps Tiles and their plans to grow as a business. With their tried-and-trusted platform, the Topps team is able to take a much more detailed look at learner data to understand their workforce’s engagement levels and how to improve them – not just through in-house product training, but also through Thrive Content.
The help Topps Tiles has had from the Customer team at Thrive has been a key piece of the puzzle. Whether it’s technical queries or functionality questions, support is always available exactly when they need it. Most importantly, Thrive achieves the goal that Topps set out with: To put colleagues at the centre of their own learning.
