Overview
In October 2026, Thrive released content rating on desktop and the mobile app. Content rating is a five-star learner feedback tool that shows authors how useful learners find each piece of mixed content created in the AI Content Creator. Every learner answers the same simple question, so scores are comparable across the whole library and add a direct quality signal to your learning analytics.
What's new
- A "Rate this content" prompt at the end of every mixed content item.
- A five-point scale from Not useful to Really useful, plus an optional note.
- A Ratings tab on each item's Activity page, showing the average rating, rating count and how many ratings include a note.
- Ratings can be filtered by star rating or by those with a note.
- Learners can go back and edit their rating and note.
- Admins switch it on or off for the whole platform, with a live preview.
Why / benefits
- A consistent quality signal across the whole content library.
- Quickly spot low-performing content that needs a refresh.
- Hear directly from learners without relying on comments.
- Ratings stay private to admins and authors, so learners can be honest.
How it works
- An admin switches on "Let learners rate content" in the content settings.
- Learners see the prompt at the end of any mixed content item and choose a score.
- Results appear on the item's Activity tab, with a star distribution chart and a list of every rating and note.
- Switching it off stops new ratings but keeps everything collected so far.
Use cases
- An author checks a new course a few weeks after launch, sees it averaging three out of five with notes about a confusing section, and revises it.
- An admin scans ratings across the library to find content consistently rated Not useful and prioritises it for review.
People/personas
- Content authors see how their content is landing with learners.
- L&D admins spot low-rated content across the library.
- Learners get a simple way to say what helped and what didn't.
