Inspiring self-led learning
Despite growing to over 200 stores across the UK, Ireland and the USA, FatFace wanted to maintain the more modern feel of learning associated with smaller businesses. They wanted to pivot away from a top-down, "this is what we think you need" approach to compliance training, and instead create a digital experience where employee engagement with development was genuinely voluntary, self-led and motivating. Their need for a fresh, modern learning strategy brought them to Thrive.

More than just a learning platform
One of the big factors that drew the FatFace team to Thrive was the ability it gave them to cover so much more than basic learning. The team uses the platform as their internal communication tool to share news and collaborate, something they hadn't been able to do previously. Campaigns kept stores informed on seasonal launches, while structured pathways delivered product knowledge and onboarding consistently across every location.
When it comes to content, they're reaping the benefits of combining their own FatFace-developed content with an enormous amount of external sources.

Driving engagement with content variety
The different types of content that can be included in their learning initiatives had a huge impact on the L&D team at FatFace. From video to quizzes, memes to quotes, they've been able to get creative with the way they deliver training, and this enthusiasm has transferred through to learners, with increased engagement across the board. Analytics dashboards gave the L&D team clear sight of what was driving engagement across stores, enabling smarter content decisions and better frontline training outcomes.

"We’ve reached 200,000 content views now, which is astronomical and way above and beyond anything we had targeted"
