Spaces Milestone 12: Draft Mode for Published Pages

Editing content in Spaces has always required a publish-first approach, meaning any saved change went live immediately. As organisations scale their use of Spaces, the need for a review step before content goes live has grown, and Draft Mode addresses this directly.

• Editors can save changes to a published page without republishing them
• Updates can be worked on iteratively, across multiple sessions if needed
• The published version stays live and unchanged until the draft is explicitly republished

• Removes the pressure of completing edits in one go
• Protects the live page from being disrupted mid-edit
• Enables a review step before changes are surfaced to learners

• An editor opens a published page within a Space and makes changes, which save as a draft rather than publishing immediately
• The live page remains visible to users in its current published state
• Once ready, the editor selects Republish to push the updated version live
