Overview
Thrive's custom fields now include an Email type, giving admins in Platform settings a structured, validated way to collect secondary email addresses from learners, with optional verification and uniqueness enforcement.
What's new
- A new Email field type in Configure > User Attributes, with optional verification and uniqueness toggles
- Up to 20 email fields can be configured per tenant
- Custom email fields can be used as criteria in audience rules
- Optional re-verification cadence, with learners notified before and on expiry
Why / benefits
- Replaces workarounds like free-text fields for collecting non-login email addresses
- Verified email values give a trustworthy identity signal for integrations and comms routing
- Email fields can drive Space and group membership rules for precise segmentation
How it works
- Admins create an Email field in Configure > User Attributes and choose whether verification and uniqueness apply
- Learners see the field on their profile and confirm ownership by clicking a link sent to the address
- An address a learner does not recognise can be disowned via a single link, stopping further emails
Use cases
- A learner whose Thrive login is a personal email adds and verifies a work email to gain access to content locked to that domain.
- An organisation captures a manager's secondary internal email for reporting, with uniqueness enforced to avoid duplicates.
People/personas
- Admins create and configure the custom Email field for their organisation
- Learners verify their email address and manage re-verification when prompted
