With a focus on personality and individuality in every single one of their properties – from Scotland to Bath – the team at Apex Hotels knew that their learning platform needed to mirror that same sense of uniqueness. This called for a learning platform that could tailor the learning experience to each employee just as thoughtfully as Apex designs each hotel, giving every learner the five-star treatment. 

Their previous LMS just wasn’t driving the engagement they needed; it lacked the ability to pull people in, and once there, the user interface was clunky and unintuitive. The biggest challenge started before any learning even happened – it was creating a reason for people to come to their platform in the first place. It was clear that Apex needed a partner, not just another provider.

From the start, the team at Thrive removed the stress from the implementation process – seamlessly migrating everything from their previous LMS to Thrive in just three months, including all their learning history and records. 

Inspired by their company slogan (“Find Yourself Here”), Apex Hotels’ Thrive platform, Grow Yourself Here, was born. Together with Thrive, Apex created a central, engaging destination for all things learning and development. And the support didn’t stop after go-live. The Apex team describes the customer experience as “excellent” — always human, always there, and always committed to innovating.

Since switching to Thrive, the Apex team has been amazed by the remarkable engagement levels they’ve seen. User adoption surged to 90% within just a few weeks of launch; something that was completely unheard of with their previous platform – which felt less like a natural part of their working day, and more like an afterthought.

With more than 1,300 team members now connected through Thrive, Apex has created a thriving learning culture that feels completely organic. During Learning at Work Week, they saw the highest ever number of users on the platform connecting with non-compliance content. Instead, people were actively choosing to connect and learn together.
